Roberto Bacchini graduated from the Pontifical Ambrosian Institute of Sacred Music in Milan, achieving the Mastership
in Gregorian Chant; he studied Organ with Franco Castelli and Composition with Luigi Molfino. He refined his technique
by studying Conduction with Giorgio Bredolo.
He founded and conducts the chamber orchestra "Poseidon Ensemble"
Poseidon Ensemble in Varese, which is now performing its second season
Il Soffio dell´Arco, under the auspices of the Province and Town council of Varese and the participation of many
internationally renowned artists, such as the famous double bassist Giuseppe Ettorre,
the baritone Franco Sioli, the violinist Guido Rimonda
and the double bassist Piermario Murelli.
As a composer of vocal, instrumental and choral music, he has released numerous works with the publishing firm
Rigginenti in Milan; among these, a book with five Lieder for soprano and piano based on Hermann Hesse´s poems.
In October 2002 he created the New Orleans Duo (voice and piano), that performed in many concerts in the area of
Varese and in Grand Hotels in Switzerland. He won the contest as best author-composer at the Fifth Festival Musica
e Parole d´Autore, organized by the publishing house NV Records 4-Elle in Genoa. He teaches
"Music Theory and Solmization" at the Accademia Musicale S.Agostino in Cassinetta (province of Varese) and at the
Accademia in Malnate (Varese). Since September 2004 he is chapel master of the San Vittore Church in Casbeno-Varese.
He teaches music basic theory in the 'Istituto Medio Superiore' (Sesto Calende,VA). In July 2006 he publishes a book
entitled 'Reflections' about 'poetry and music' (publisher
Casa Editrice Nuovi Autori): you can find it in every
Italian bookshop. In June 2007 I took part as "juror" in the International Singing Competition of Treble Voices called
"Cuoricino d'oro" in the City of Luino (VA).
